About Us
Bumpkin Basset Hounds is located on the outskirts of Eldon, MO. We live way out in the country and love it. Our goal is to raise high quality, AKC basset hounds and match them to their perfect family. Our bloodlines include European and Brazilian champion lines.
Bumpkin Basset Hounds is family ran and operated.
We first fell in love with the breed 25+ years ago when the basset’s docile and loyal temperament matched the needs of our family member who happened to have autism. Since that first dog, the bassets are part of our family and are raised in our home, not a kennel.
Steve and Nicole are retired and spend most of their time with the dogs. Vanessa, or Nessa, is a Veterinarian so they get the best care possible.
We are a home based environment and not a kennel. Our dogs live indoors with us and we have remodeled our home around their needs. We love spending time with them, so we want to make it as enjoyable as possible on everyone involved.
We are former members of The Basset Hound Club of America (BHCA) and the Missouri River Basset Hound Club. We are proud current members of the Mid-South Basset Hound Club. Dr. Vanessa is a chairman on the board for our club. They are a great group of individuals that love the breed. Very supportive whether you show confirmation, do field/scent trails, or just a Basset Hound enthusiast. Please feel free to check them out on facebook.
